Russell & George - 'Designing The Process' Masterclass (1)
Time & Location
About The Event
Who is this Masterclass suitable for?
Interior Designers, Decorators, Architects and Students.
Have you ever wondered why buildings and interiors look the way they do? In this masterclass we want to explore design and procurement, and look at how much of the outcome is actually driven by the process after design approval. Good design may come from inspiration, but how does the process with consultants, project managers, builders, value engineering, marketing review, client whim etc impact on what the end result is? Does this taint the process or improve it? Is there a better way? We’re going to look at a couple of case studies and potentially explore what could be another way.
About Russell & George:
Russell & George was founded by architects Ryan Russell and Byron George in 2010. The goal of the practice is to create design solutions that extend thresholds and blur the line between different fields of design practice. This creates a dialogue between people and the places they inhabit and engage with.
In this way interiors become urban design schemes, industrial design works become art pieces, and architecture can become as singular and functional as industrial design. We treat every space as a unique opportunity to reveal the hidden personalities and goals of our clients and/or their businesses and as such, no one project is the same. It can be a fairly eclectic and sometimes difficult approach but it is one that constantly reinvigorates and reinvents our design view and process.
