Session Overview

Trend Union's creative director Philip Fimmano will conduct an online trend forecasting workshop, explaining his Paris studio's methodology and outlining ways creative professionals can embrace both emotion and reason. 
 

During these most challenging of times, Philip will explain how we can focus more on our intuition as an important tool for reimagining the future of design, interiors and lifestyle.

About Philip

Based in Paris and New York, Philip Fimmano is a trend analyst, design curator and writer, contributing to Trend Union’s forecasting books, magazines and strategic studies for international companies in fashion, interiors and lifestyle.

In 2011, he co-founded Talking Textiles; an ongoing initiative to promote awareness and innovation in textiles through touring exhibitions, a trend publication, a design prize and free educational programmes – including New York Textile Month, a citywide festival celebrating textile creativity each September. 
 

Along with Li Edelkoort, he is the co-author of the recently published design book A Labour of Love (Lecturis, 2020) and the co-founder of the World Hope Forum, a new platform for creative community building. Philip is the mentor of Polimoda's Fashion Forecasting masters in Florence.

As a champion of artisanal craft and textiles, he is an Advisory Board member of Xtant and sits on the Board of Directors for the International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe. He recently joined the Creative Council for all of Gap Inc.’s brands, advising the group on innovation and sustainable practice.
