BYRON DESIGN RETREAT 2027

THE COURAGEOUS DECISION

Boldness, Boundaries & Better Business

A two-part workshop co-hosted by Louise Walker & Andrew Mitchell

As designers, we know what needs to change in our business, but overwhelm, perfectionism, self-doubt or people-pleasing can keep us stuck in patterns that are no longer useful, even if they feel safe and familiar.

Workshop Overview

In this two-part workshop, developmental coach Louise Walker and business coach Andrew Mitchell will explore the behavioural and business patterns that can hold designers back from making the courageous decisions that will create the greatest shifts.

Blending deeper self-awareness with practical business strategy, this workshop will empower you to recognise the micro-moments before avoidance takes over: the point at which fear can disguise itself as logic, where an important conversation is delayed, a boundary becomes blurred or the next meaningful step feels easier to postpone.

Together, we’ll identify the patterns currently limiting your confidence, momentum and profitability, understand the cost of staying stuck, and explore more courageous ways to approach the challenges you face in your business.

By the end of the Retreat, you’ll translate these insights into a clear and realistic 30-day action plan, supported by practical tools and an accountability structure to help you maintain momentum on your return home.

“Make no mistake.
This workshop is about action.

You’ll leave Byron with greater insight into what’s been holding you back, and a specific courageous decision that will really move the needle on your business.

Plus, we’re providing you with a realistic 30-Day Action Plan and an Accountability Structure to help you follow through following the Retreat.”

Part One: See it. Change it.

Recognise the patterns shaping your decisions. Create the possibility for change.

The decisions that have the potential to transform our businesses are often the ones we find most difficult to make.

In this opening workshop, we’ll explore the behavioural patterns that can quietly influence the way you lead your business: the overthinking, perfectionism, self-doubt, people-pleasing or overwhelm that may be limiting your confidence, clarity and momentum.

Together we’ll identify where unconscious fear-based patterns and beliefs are holding you back, consider the cost of allowing “familiar” patterns to remain unchallenged, and uncover the courageous decision specific to you that’s important for the forward momentum and expansion of your business.

Part Two: Empowered Choices

Translate insight into purposeful action.

Towards the completion of your Retreat experience, this final workshop will provide the opportunity to reflect on the ideas, insights and renewed perspective you’ve gained throughout your time in Byron.

Together, we’ll identify the business priority that matters most, anticipate potential post-retreat patterns of self-sabotage, and develop a focused 30-day plan to support meaningful action.

You’ll leave the Retreat with a clear sense of direction, a practical accountability structure and powerful tools to help you sustain momentum well beyond your time in Byron.
