The South Island offers an unparalleled variety of scenery - snow-capped peaks that tower over sun-parched plains, mesmerising waterfalls that cascade deep down into fjords and translucent glaciers that melt into serene lakes. The island is also the home to vast sheep stations, vineyards and welcoming cities.

As New Zealand’s premier alpine wellness retreat on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown is a place rich in natural beauty and breathtaking wilderness where you can unwind, indulge, and explore.

Recognised for supreme natural beauty, Queenstown has long been the inspiration for world-class architecture and design, with many of the nation’s most spectacular homes perched on the side of the mountains surrounding the lake, drinking in uninterrupted, unparalleled views.

Your Hotel

Idyllically situated in Queenstown, the St Moritz Hotel overlooks Lake Wakatipu, with views to The Remarkables mountain range.

The architecture and interiors offer intriguing works of art, bespoke furniture and cocooning colours, which highlight the unique charm of Queenstown and the serenity of its surrounding environment.

Decorated with style and elegance, the spacious rooms & suites provide the same sense of calm and serenity.  A blend of textures, colours and light combine to make this “alpine residence” a unique haven where sensorial delights await you.

Food & Wine

Queenstown is celebrated around the world for great food, spectacular wine, and welcoming hospitality. In the heart of the Central Otago, the region is famous for mighty pinot noir and luscious aromatic whites.

With a bounty of local produce, Queenstown’s food scene has exploded in the past decade.

Focusing largely on local, seasonal produce, the town’s top chefs are serving award-winning cuisine that is turning heads the world over.

Most notably, 3 hatted Amisfield is regarded as one of the finest restaurants in New Zealand, where head chef Vaughan Mabee is creating dishes that represent the work of a small group of fisherman, hunters, gatherers and farmers. Through their awarded menu, they bring together the products of these local producers to epitomise the tastes of Central Otago and in doing so, highlight the relationship between the raw produce and the finished product.

Subtle nuances in geography, weather and soils produce distinctive characteristics and flavours in wines specific to the region.
